Mass Deportations
In the November election, current Vice President Kamala Harris will run for the Democratic Party, while Trump has pledged that if he becomes President, he will launch the largest deportation campaign in U.S. history against illegal immigrants. He plans to start this campaign from his first day in office.
Trump has stated that illegal immigrants are contaminating the United States and he intends to remove them as quickly as possible. During his previous presidency, he initiated the U.S.-Mexico border wall project but did not complete it. Trump says that if re-elected, he plans to use the military to complete this project and also open detention centers as part of the deportation process.
In a campaign video, Trump mentioned that on the first day of his new term, he would sign an executive order to ensure that the future children of illegal immigrants do not automatically gain U.S. citizenship. He has also discussed plans to impose entry bans on citizens of several Muslim-majority countries to keep terrorists away from the U.S.
Climate Agreement
Trump had withdrawn the United States from the 2015 Paris Climate Agreement during his first term. After President Joe Biden took office, the U.S. rejoined the agreement.
Trump’s campaign asserts that if re-elected, he would withdraw the U.S. from the Paris Climate Agreement once again. At a rally, Trump told his supporters that he would end the unnecessary spending of the Biden administration and cancel the funds committed to combating climate change.
Trump also stated that he would revoke Biden’s “crazy” electric vehicle mandate and promised that this would rapidly decrease energy costs, potentially cutting them in half in many cases.
Cryptocurrency
Trump has vowed to make the U.S. the world’s capital for Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. He also wants to appoint billionaire and tech entrepreneur Elon Musk to oversee government waste.
He plans to impose a 10% tariff on all imports, which will affect importing companies and eventually their customers, although this rule would not apply to exporting companies. Trump also intends to reduce tax rates for the middle class, upper class, lower class, and businesses.
During his first term, Trump engaged in a significant trade war with China. He wants to revoke China’s “Most Favored Nation” status if he returns to power.
Abortion Rights
Trump often claims that he has played a partial role in the reduction of abortion rights in the U.S. He appointed three conservative justices to the Supreme Court, attributing some of the credit to them. However, his position on future access to reproductive health services remains unclear.
Trump is actively seeking to impose a nationwide ban on abortion, which is expected to gain support from conservative factions within the U.S.
Ukraine War
Trump has been stating for months that he could end the Ukraine war within 24 hours, but he has not provided details on how this would be achieved. Critics suggest he might be considering pressuring Kyiv to cede territories illegally occupied by Russia in 2014 and 2022.
In an interview, Trump mentioned he has a very precise plan to end the conflict between Ukraine and Russia, but he is not willing to disclose it, preferring to keep it as a surprise.
On October 7, a conflict erupted between the Palestinian militant group Hamas and Israel. Following the start of this conflict, Trump initially positioned himself as an unconditional supporter of Israel but later took a cautious stance regarding Israel’s military actions in Gaza. He expressed uncertainty about whether he approves of Israel’s approach.
