Gusts of up to 60 km/h are possible in five regions

 Storms with a speed of 60 km are likely to occur in five regions of the country. Therefore, warning signals have been raised in the river ports of those areas.

The Meteorological Office has given such a forecast on Tuesday (August 27).

Meteorologist Dr. Muhammed Abul Kalam Mallick said that temporary gusty/gusty winds with a speed of 45-60 kmph from South/South-East with rain/thundershower may occur over Jessore, Khulna, Noakhali, Comilla and Chittagong regions. The river ports in these areas have been asked to display the number one warning signal.

In another forecast, the pronounced low pressure over Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining areas has weakened into a low pressure and is currently over Bihar and adjoining areas. The extension of monsoon axis extends over Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, low pressure center, Gangetic West Bengal and southern Bangladesh to Assam. Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay of Bengal.

Light to moderate rain/thundershower with gusty winds may occur at many places of Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions and at some places of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh and Khulna divisions till Wednesday (August 28) morning. Along with this, moderate to heavy rainfall may occur in some parts of the country. Day and night temperatures may increase slightly across the country.

Light to moderate rain/thundershowers with gusty winds may occur at many places in Mymensingh, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions and at some places in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna and Barisal divisions from Wednesday morning to Thursday (August 29) morning. Along with this, moderate to heavy rainfall may occur in some parts of the country. Day temperatures may rise by 1-2 degrees Celsius across the country and night temperatures may rise marginally.

From Thursday morning to Friday (August 30) morning in most places of Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions; Light to moderate rain/thundershowers with gusty winds may occur at many places of Rajshahi and Chittagong divisions and some places of Dhaka, Khulna and Barisal divisions. Along with this, moderate to heavy rainfall may occur in some parts of the country. Day and night temperatures may remain almost unchanged across the country. Rainfall trend may continue in extended five days.
