Portugal’s win over Hungary, Ronaldo breaks record

Portugal beat Hungary 3-0 in Budapest to retain the European Championship title. Cristiano Ronaldo has set a new goal record in the Euro Championship on the night of Portugal’s big win.

The visitors were ahead from the start in front of 80,000 spectators at the Ferenc Puskas Stadium in Hungary. Ronaldo’s team was ahead in terms of possession of the ball or goal.

He also got some chances in the first half. If the Hungarian goalkeeper Peter Gulashi had not become a superhuman, if Ronaldo himself had not hit the best chance with the goal far out, the current champions could have gone ahead in the first half. But it did not happen. Hungarian goalkeeper Gulashi’s superhuman goal was not seen. In the 5th and 40th minutes, he saved Hungary from falling behind by blocking two great shots by Diego Jota. Ronaldo also had a chance in the 43rd minute. But he could not aim the shot.

The game in the second half also went on goalless for a long time. But the wait for Ronaldo’s goal ended in 64 minutes. Rafael Guerrero took a shot from inside the box. The Hungarian defender’s leg caught the ball in the direction of the net.

The team gets a penalty after four minutes. From there, Cristiano Ronaldo became the first player in history to score 10 goals in Euros. Ronaldo scored a pair of goals against Hungary, bringing his total to 106.

Ronaldo scored another goal in the fifth Euros just before the last whistle. He got the goalkeeper alone by playing a one-to-one pass with teammate Rafa Silver. He was also tricked into tapping the ball into the net. That ensured Portugal’s 3-0 victory. Portugal will play a match against Germany on June 19. In the last match of the group, they will fight against last runners-up France.
