Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina has paid homage to the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu on the 72nd founding anniversary of the Awami League. She paid homage by laying a wreath at the portrait of Bangabandhu at Dhanmondi-32 on Wednesday morning.
At the time, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, keeping in view the ideals of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the spirit of the great liberation war, all the leaders, activists and supporters have faced hundreds of adversities and conspiracies and put the Awami League on a very strong footing today.
She said, the aim of the Awami League is to establish the country as ‘Golden Bangladesh’ and the Bengalis as a self-respecting nation in the world.
After laying a wreath at the portrait of the Father of the Nation, the Prime Minister stood there in silence for a while.
Then Awami League, Juba League, Chhatra League, Sramik League, Tati League, Krishak League, Projonmo League, Bangabandhu Cultural Alliance, Swechchhasebak League, Mahila Awami League paid their respects. Leaders and activists of Awami League’s affiliated organizations also paid their respects.
Ignoring the fear of the Corona epidemic, people of different ages paid homage and love to Bangabandhu.
On this day in 1949, the East Bengal Awami Muslim League made its debut in the Rose Garden on KM Das Road in the capital Dhaka. Later, after the independence of ‘Muslim’ and the country, Bangladesh was added instead of ‘East Bengal’. The Awami League has built a long line of struggle and success in 62 years. Under the leadership of the party, recognition of language, independence and developing Bangladesh has been achieved.
