Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today expressed Bangladesh’s firm resolve to win the battle against coronavirus (Covid-19) and renewed her call to all to strictly follow the health guidelines to check the deadly virus.
“We have been fighting against Covid-19 for more than one year. But, we’ve to secure victory in the war … we must win the battle, InshaAllah,” she said in a video message on the eve of the holy Eid-ul-Azha.
In the message, aired by Bangladesh Television and other media outlets, the premier extended her heartfelt greetings to the countrymen and expatriate Bangladeshis on the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Azha, one of the two biggest religious festivals of the Muslims which will be celebrated tomorrow.
She requested all to abide by the health protocols properly to halt further transmission of the Covid-19.
“We’ve lost many near and dear ones in Covid-19,” Sheikh Hasina said, praying for eternal peace of the departed souls of the deceased and conveying profound sympathy to their family members.
The prime minister urged all to work for the welfare of the country and its people being imbued with the spirit of sacrifice taught through Qurbani.
She concluded her message saying, “Everyone be well, sound and safe. Eid Mubarak.”
