The distribution of driving licenses started today

The Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) distributes 12 lakh 45 thousand driving licenses to the stuck customers from Monday. The Machine Tools Factory (BMTF) under the Army started printing licenses on Sunday.

When asked, the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) director said that the machine tools factory has started printing the hanging driving licenses since yesterday. The printed driving licenses will be delivered to all the circle offices of BRTA through courier service. Customers will be able to get a driving license from Monday (today).

Asked how customers would know if his license had been issued, the director said text messages would be sent to the customer’s mobile to collect the driving license. Then they can go to the BRTA office and order their driving license.

BMTF is working on printing 12 lakh 45 thousand driving licenses stuck to the customer. For this, BRTA has signed an agreement with BMTF on August 29. As a result, the process of issuing these licenses is starting fast.

According to BRTA sources, the normal supply of driving licenses was cut off in August 2019. In case of emergency, the license seekers suffer. 12 lakh 45 thousand driving licenses of the customer have been hanging for almost two years.

There are allegations that BRTA could not start the tender and contractor recruitment process for the timely issuance of driving licenses. As a result, the license is tangled. Overcoming the complexity, BRTA signed a five-year agreement with Madras Security Printers as the lowest bidder on July 29, 2020. But due to Corona, the company could not work on time. Now the Indian company is working on issuing intelligent card driving licenses.

BRTA started issuing digital smart card driving licenses with electronic chips on October 17, 2011.
