Artificial Intelligence will control our future: Education Minister

Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni says that our future will be controlled by artificial intelligence. Therefore, information technology should be given more importance in the future education system.

The Minister of Education made the remarks while participating in a panel discussion on a report titled Future of Education at the 41st General Conference on UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, France.

Referring to the disparity in information technology education between developed and developing countries, the Minister said that many developing countries have not been able to keep pace with the massive changes in information technology. As a result, the digital gap is being created. Therefore, extensive technical support is required for the development of physical infrastructure in developing countries.

Outlining the future of the education system, the Minister said that although UNESCO has made great strides in ensuring primary education to millions of people around the world, human civilization will go further to ensure world peace and security. Proper education can provide that.

He hopes that the next education system will build our next generation of good people and responsible world citizens.

The panel discussion was also attended by Cuban Education Minister Miss Anna Elsa Belayakuz Kabila, Slovenian Education Minister Simon Kustek, and others.

UNESCO launched the Future of Education Initiative at the UN General Assembly in September 2019. A commission was set up under the chairmanship of Ethiopian President Shale Work JUD. The committee held 19 major meetings in two years and prepared the Future of Education Report.

It is to be mentioned that the 41st General Conference of UNESCO started in Paris yesterday. Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni, Chairperson of the Bangladesh National Commission for UNESCO, represents Bangladesh at the 41st General Conference of UNESCO.
