PM releases postage stamp marking 70 years of Amar Ekushey

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina yesterday released a special commemorative postage stamp, an opening day cover and a data card on the occasion of 70 years of Amar Ekushey and Golden Jubilee of observing Amar Ekushey in the independent Bangladesh.

The Premier unveiled the Taka 10 commemorative postage stamp, a Taka 10 opening day cover and a Taka 5 data card at a ceremony at her official residence Ganabhaban here this afternoon.

A special canceller was used on the occasion.

Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar, Prime Minister’s Office secretary Md Tofazzel Hossain Miah, and Posts and Telecommunications Secretary Md Khalilur Rahman, among others, were present on the occasion.

The stamp, first-day cover and data card would be sold from Philatelic Bureau of Dhaka GPO and would also be available at other GPOs and head post offices across the country later.
