Prime Minister arrived in Italy

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has arrived in Rome, Italy to attend the Food System Summit organized by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).

The Prime Minister arrived at Fiumicino Airport in Rome, Italy at 1:40 PM local time on Sunday (July 23).

After the formalities at the airport, he proceeded to his tour accommodation.

Earlier on Sunday morning, the Prime Minister left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on a Qatar Airways flight (QR-643).

After a transit stop in Doha, he arrived in Rome on another Qatar Airways flight (QR-131).

In addition to participating in the United Nations Food System Summit, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will hold a bilateral meeting with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.

Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen said in a press conference on Thursday that after this meeting, two MoUs on energy cooperation and cultural exchange may be signed between the two countries.

Also, Prime Minister of Nepal Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Director General of United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Qu Dongyu, President of International Fund of Agricultural Development (IFAD) Alvaro Lario and others will meet with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina during her visit to Rome.

During the visit, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will participate in a regional ambassadorial conference with Bangladeshi ambassadors posted in various European countries and attend a civic reception organized by the expatriate Bangladeshi community living in Italy.

After the tour, he will leave for Dhaka on a Qatar Airways flight next Wednesday (July 26) local time. On the same day, the Prime Minister is scheduled to arrive in Dhaka around 2 pm Bangladesh time.
