The National Seismological Center of Nepal stated that the magnitude of the earthquake was 6.4. However, the German research institute Sciences (GFZ) later reported that the magnitude was 5.7. The United States Geological Survey (USGS) stated that the earthquake had a magnitude of 5.6.
