Lorry Overturned in Comilla and Train Movement was Stopped for Two and a Half Hours

Comilla: In Comilla’s Sadar South Upazila, at the Bijaypur level crossing, a lorry lost control and overturned, colliding with two CNG-run autorickshaws. While no casualties were reported, the Dhaka-Chittagong rail route and the Comilla-Noakhali regional highway remained closed for two hours due to the incident.

The incident occurred on Thursday at 7:00 a.m.

Liakat Ali Majumdar, the Assistant Engineer (Track) of Comilla Railway, stated that the accident took place at 7:00 a.m. The lorry lost control and overturned on the level crossing, hitting two autorickshaws. We have cleared the railway line by 9:20 a.m. Now, normal vehicular and train movement has resumed.

Mustafa Kamal, the Officer-in-Charge of Comilla Railway Police, stated that there were no reports of casualties in the accident. However, both the lorry and the autorickshaws suffered extensive damage.
