Sheikh Hasina took oath as MP for the eighth time

Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has taken oath as a Member of Parliament for the eighth time. He was elected from Gopalganj-3 constituency in the 12th National Parliament election.

On Wednesday (January 10) at 10:30 a.m., the speaker read the oath to Sheikh Hasina along with other parliamentarians of Awami League in the oath room of Jatiya Sangsad Bhavan. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury.

Awami League President Sheikh Hasina was first elected as a Member of Parliament in 1986. After that he was elected Member of Parliament in 1991, 1996, 2001, 2008, 2014 and 2018 elections.

Sheikh Hasina is going to become the Prime Minister for the fourth consecutive time in the government that will be formed in the January 7 elections. In all, he is going to become the Prime Minister for the fifth time in the history of Bangladesh.

Awami League is going to form the government for the fourth consecutive time with a two-thirds majority in the 12th National Parliament election held on January 7. Out of 299 constituencies, the private results of 298 constituencies were available till January 8 noon. Among them, Awami League won 223 seats under the boat symbol.

After Awami League, independent candidates got the most seats. Independent candidates have been declared winners in 62 constituencies. Almost all of them are Awami League leaders.

Meanwhile, the Jatiya Party, sitting in the seat of the main opposition party in the Jatiya Sangsad in the last two terms, finally won 11 seats.

Apart from this, out of the 14 parties led by Awami League, Jasd won one seat, Workers Party one seat and Kalyan Party which came out of BNP alliance won one seat.
