After the distribution of departments among the new seven ministers, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will retain the responsibilities of four ministries and divisions. Previously, the Prime Minister was responsible for six ministries and divisions.
This information has been revealed from a circular issued by the Cabinet Division on Friday (March 1) regarding the distribution of responsibilities of the newly appointed ministers.
After the formation of the new cabinet on January 11 following the elections held on January 7, the Prime Minister kept the responsibilities of six ministries and divisions to herself, including the Cabinet Division, Ministry of Defense, Armed Forces Division, Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, Ministry of Culture, and Ministry of Labor and Employment.
Today, Md. Nazrul Islam Chowdhury, a Member of Parliament from Chittagong-14 constituency, has been given the responsibility of the Ministry of Labor and Employment. On the other hand, Nahid Izhar Khan, a reserved female Member of Parliament, has been appointed as the Minister of Culture.
Now, the Cabinet Division, Ministry of Defense, Armed Forces Division, and Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources are the four ministries and divisions retained by the Prime Minister.
