Messi’s Argentina draws 1-1 with Chile: Copa America 2021

Argentina genius Lionel Messi scored a shocking freekick however Chile hit back to procure a 1-1 attract the Copa America on Monday.

Lionel Messi tried hard. He also scored a great free-kick. Many have tried to score more goals. But the goal was not scored.

Argentina drew 1-1 with Chile after Lionel Messi’s record goal in Rio de Janeiro. Even after Messi’s goal, Lionel team did not start this year’s Copa America with a victory.

Earlier, on June 4, Argentina drew 1-1 against the same team in the World Cup qualifier. Messi scored a goal earlier that day. Chile later drew the match with revenge.

Today it happened again. Messi scored a spectacular free-kick in the 33rd minute of the match. Chile took the draw in the second half. Argentina is stuck in the circle of draw.

Although the start was quite aggressive, Chile’s attack did not last long. Argentina quickly settled the game and sat down on Chile.

This is Messi’s 73rd goal in Argentina’s jersey. And just counting the competitive matches, this is Messi’s 39th international goal. Gabriel Batista has the record for most goals in a competitive match for Argentina so far.

Messi set the record against Chile. But the team could not leave the field with winning. Argentina dominated the first half of the match at the Olympic Stadium in Santos. Chile failed to score a single shot in the full 45 minutes. On the other hand, apart from Messi’s goal from a free-kick, Argentina also aimed two more shots. But not a single goal happens.

Both teams created goal opportunities but no goals were scored. De Maria and Ezekiel Palacios came down to Argentina. Palacios got a great opportunity in the 79th minute, Messi’s extended ball, but could not keep the goal. Desperate to score, Lionel then dropped Aguero.
