A strict lockdown will be observed across the country for the next seven days from Monday, June 26 to curb the rise in corona virus infection. At this time all government and private offices will be closed except for emergency services.
According to a press release, a ‘severe lockdown’ will be observed across the country from next Monday (June 26) for seven days to prevent Covid-19 infection. All government and private offices will be closed except emergency services.
All types of vehicles except emergency goods will be closed. Ambulance and medical vehicles can only move. No one can get out of the house without an urgent reason. The media will be exempt from these restrictions, the notification said.
Last Thursday, the National Advisory Committee on Covid-19 recommended a 14-day ‘shutdown’ across the country. A press release signed by the chairman of the committee said that social infection of the special delta species of Covid-19 has been identified and the incidence of corona has already increased in the country. The transmission capacity of this species is relatively high. Analysis of the data of the Department of Health has shown high infection in the whole country, very high infection in the fifties district. The usefulness of the piecemeal program for disease prevention has been questioned.
The advisory committee further said that the Prime Minister has taken all possible steps to procure the vaccine of Covid-19. Thanks and gratitude were expressed to her for this at the meeting.
