The Bangladesh High Commission in the Maldives has organized a voluntary blood donation program on the occasion of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu and the 50th anniversary of independence.
The program was held today at the premises of Bangladesh High Commission with the support of Maldives Red Crescent and Maldivian Blood Service. A significant number of expatriate Bangladeshis, some Maldivian nationals and their family members, including High Commission officials and employees, volunteered for the program.
A press release issued by the Foreign Ministry’s Public Diplomacy Department today said locals praised the humanitarian program. They said the Father of the Nation has been honored through this program in the year of Mujib.
Bangladesh High Commissioner to Maldives Rear Admiral Mohammad Nazmul Hasan inaugurated the blood donation drive. Also present on the occasion were Abdul Halim Abdul Latif, President of the Maldives Red Crescent Society, Fatimat Himaya, Secretary General and officials of the High Commission.
