The government suspended mass vaccination activities

The Bangladesh government is stopping the mass vaccination activities from Monday 23 August. The health minister said, ‘Corona’s mass vaccination activities are not happening in the country at present. From now on, everyone will have to get vaccinated by registering in the ‘Surokkha’ app.

Talking to reporters at the Secretariat today, Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Malek said, From now on, everyone will have to get vaccinated by registering in the ‘Surokkha’ app.

The government is planning to bring 7 to 8 crore people under vaccination between January and February, he said.

“We are considering the possibility of giving a second dose of Covid-19 within 15-20 days of the first dose,” he added.

Another 6 million Pfizer vaccines will be available by next September, the minister said, adding that “some (vaccines) will come this month, the rest in September.”

He also said that 1 million doses of vaccine will come through the World Health Organization.
