In response to ongoing bombings in Gaza, Hamas’s military wing, the Al-Qassam Brigades, has issued a warning, stating that unless the indiscriminate killing of innocent civilians in Palestine ceases, they will retaliate by targeting Israeli citizens. Abu Obeida, the spokesperson for the military wing, emphasized, “Targeting any innocent Palestinian without any warning will have dire consequences. In that case, we will be compelled to kill Israeli civilians and broadcast those scenes.”
Abu Obeida further stated, “We find it regrettable to take such decisions, but Israel and its leadership bear the responsibility for this.”
Last Saturday morning, Hamas fired thousands of rockets into Israel and subsequently launched attacks upon entering Israeli territory. As a result, it has been reported that 900 Israelis have lost their lives. Among them, there are several foreign nationals.
In response to Hamas’s attacks, Israel has initiated counteroffensives. As of Monday, 560 Palestinians have been reported dead, and thousands have been injured.
Hamas fighters have taken Israeli citizens hostage after infiltrating into Gaza through controlled territories. They are now using them to try and halt Israel’s retaliatory attacks.
