Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni said, all primary, secondary and higher secondary education institutions in the country could open on September 12. She made the remarks in response to questions from reporters at an exchange meeting in Chandpur on Friday (September 3rd).
The education minister said, the decision to open the universities would be taken soon. Because, the University Syndicate and the Academic Council make the decision. All the vice-chancellors proposed to bring the students to the university with the first dose of vaccine. However, they can decide to open the university with other institutions if they want.
Dipu Moni further said, that all the preparations for opening the educational institutions have been completed and even after the opening of the institutions, the health of the students has to be strictly monitored. All educational institutions will be instructed to send a mandatory daily report in this regard. The decision will be taken at an inter-ministerial meeting on September 5.
She added that in most cases, vaccination of teachers and employees of educational institutions has already been completed. The minister said, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has announced to vaccinate students above the age of twelve. Earlier, she had also mentioned about vaccinating 18-year-old students.
