Saudi envoy calls on President

Saudi Arabian Ambassador in Dhaka Essa Yousef Essa Alduhailan paid a courtesy call on President M Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban yesterday evening.

“During the meeting, the ambassador handed over a letter from Saudi King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud to the President on the occasion of “World Expo 2030”, President’s press secretary Md Joynal Abedin told.

Noting that the bilateral relation between the Saudi Arabia and Bangladesh is very important and multilateral as well, the Head of State said there is an ample opportunity to increase trade and investment between the two countries.

President Hamid emphasized on increasing mutual communication and visit-exchange to enhance trade investment between Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia.

Abdul Hamid expressed gratitude to Saudi Arabia for providing assistance to Rohingyas, taken shelter in Bangladesh earlier forcibly displaced from Myanmar.

This cooperation will continue in days to come and that Saudi Arabia will continue to exert pressure on Myanmar to ensure a dignified repatriate the Rohingyas, he hoped.

President’s Office Secretary Sampad Barua, President’s Military Secretary Major General SM Salah Uddin Islam, President’s Press Secretary Md Joynal Abedin and Secretary (Attachment) Wahidul Islam Khan were present on the occasion.
