The education minister welcomed the proposal of rules for MPO teachers to stop politics

Teachers and employees of private educational institutions under MPO (Monthly Payment Order) now get a chance to directly engage in politics. To stop this opportunity, the DCs have proposed to make specific rules for the teachers-employees under the MPO like the Government Servant Conduct Rules. In this regard, Education Minister Dipu Moni said, ‘We think this is a good proposal. They will work on it. The education minister said these things during the press briefing after the discussion about the education ministry at the Osmani Smriti Auditorium in the capital on Tuesday afternoon on the first day of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) conference. It is reported that Jhenaidah DC Monira Begum gave the proposal to make a rule similar to government employees for secondary and higher secondary teachers and employees under MPO. It is argued in favor of the proposal that MPO teachers have the opportunity to be directly associated with political parties. It shows their bad behavior in teaching activities. If there are rules, besides teaching, the tendency of teachers to be engaged in multiple professions including contracting, and journalism can be prevented, and teachers can be encouraged to teach. It is also possible to discourage political favoritism from the teaching profession if there are rules or policies in place. DC of Jhalkathi proposed the ‘Shiksha Channel’ for 24 hours. In this regard, the education minister said, ‘We also think this is a logical demand. We use the parliament television at the behest of the prime minister and the speaker. If another complete television is available, it would be great. They are also working on it; it has been informed to the DCS. Currently, the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (MAUSHI) looks after various matters from secondary to higher education. Earlier the madrasa was also under this maushi. But now there is a separate department. The Naogaon District Commissioner has proposed a separate department for secondary education called the Directorate of Secondary Education. As an argument in favor of this proposal, it has been said that currently all the activities of secondary and higher secondary level are conducted through Maushi. So Maushi’s workload is high. Due to the large amount of work, Maushi has difficulty implementing all the activities. A separate directorate would make it easier to monitor service delivery and field activities. However, the education minister did not immediately agree to this. He said, “We think that if we share too much, the coordination can be reduced.” So, there is more to think about
