Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has commented that BNP is a party of corrupt people and does not believe in corruption. He said Sheikh Hasina does not steal. He saved the country from theft. Made politics corruption free and democratic. Obaidul Quader said these words at a discussion meeting organized by Dhaka Metropolitan South Awami League on the occasion of the 103rd birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children’s Day in Dholaikhal area of the capital. Party sources of Awami League say that although the discussion was held on the occasion of Bangabandhu’s birth anniversary, this program is counter to BNP’s rally. Dhaka Metropolitan North Awami League also held a rally at the same time on Bangabandhu’s birth anniversary at Bhashanate in Mirpur. Matia Chowdhury, Deputy Leader of the Parliament and member of the Awami League Presidium, was present there as the chief guest. Apart from this, the Jubo League organized a rally in Uttara the capital. Apart from this, like BNP, Awami League held rallies and discussions in other cities outside Dhaka. The Dholaikhal discussion meeting was held on the road. The road was closed due to the presence of leaders and activists. Although the discussion meeting was held at three o’clock, Obaidul Quader arrived after five o’clock in the afternoon. He started speaking at half past five. By that time, the BNP rally in Nayapaltan was also over. Even though it was a program for Bangabandhu’s birth anniversary, Obaidul Quader criticized BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir at the beginning of his speech. Obaidul Quader said, ‘A man named Mirza Fakhrul! Looks like a gentleman. But poison and poison in the heart. I can lie so much! The best pathological liar, the best liar. He said BNP is the world champion five times in a row. When they speak against corruption, people laugh. Speaking against corruption in the face of the corrupt, they have nothing to say but shame. Obaidul Quader claimed that if BNP came to power, it will make the country bankrupt again. He said that Tariq Rahman will smuggle crores of rupees. This evil is the patron of communalism. The country will go to the hands of the militants. That will not be allowed to happen. Urging the BNP to participate in the upcoming National Assembly elections, the general secretary of Awami League told the leaders of the party, “If you have soil under your feet, prove it by coming to the polls.” You can’t prove popularity with empty noise. Come to the election to prove it. Mentioning the name of BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul, Obaidul Quader said that like them, Sheikh Hasina does not think about stealing. Sheikh Hasina worked for the welfare of the people. He further said that if Sheikh Hasina had stolen the Padma Bridge and Metro Rail, the flyover would not have happened. If Sheikh Hasina had stolen, there would have been no Bangabandhu Tunnel in Chittagong. It would not have been possible to inaugurate 100 roads and bridges in one day. Claiming that in the last 48 years, no competent and honest leader like Sheikh Hasina was born, Obaidul Quader said, Hawa Bhaban was not built in the name of Sheikh Hasina’s children. Sheikh Hasina has delivered food to billions of people. He gave free vaccines to the people. Because Sheikh Hasina is there, the homeless are getting houses, the landless are getting land. Abu Ahmed Mannafi, president of Dhaka Metropolitan South Awami League, presided over the discussion meeting. Awami League presidium members Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya, Kamrul Islam, and Mostafa Jalal Mohiuddin also spoke; Organizing Secretary Mirza Azam, General Secretary of Metropolitan South Awami League Humayun Kabir, etc. The meeting was conducted by Riaz Uddin, the office secretary of the metropolis. This is a big achievement on Bangabandhu’s birthday. Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan said Sheikh Hasina’s success is based on the ideals and continuity of her father’s politics.
