Awami League sees power as an opportunity to serve the people: PM

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has commented that the Awami League government sees power as an opportunity to serve the people. “We see power as an opportunity to serve the people,” he said. Since the Awami League came to power after overcoming many obstacles and winning the general elections in 2008, the development of the country has been possible due to the continuation of the democratic process. The Prime Minister said these things in a function at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium on Thursday. The program was organized to award the highest national civilian award ‘Freedom Award-2023’ to 9 eminent individuals and 1 organization to recognize their outstanding contributions in their respective fields at the national level. Reiterating her unwavering commitment to building a developed, prosperous, and smart Bangladesh by 2041, the Prime Minister said, after the assassination of the Father of the Nation and most of his family members on August 15, 1975, the democratic process was repeatedly hampered and Bangladesh did not see much progress earlier due to lack of stability. Summarizing the timely and well-planned steps of his government in the country’s overall development, the head of government said, ‘Bangladesh has achieved the status of a developing country from a less developed country; Because we have never taken any plan on ad hoc basis. The Prime Minister said, ‘We have planned to move forward keeping the status of a developing country intact. We have done everything with precise and visionary planning. We always give priority to the welfare of the people of the country in terms of planning. After getting the status of a developing country, his government is now striving to make the country a developed, prosperous, and ‘smart Bangladesh’ by 2041 through the implementation of ‘Vision 2041’. The Prime Minister said that apart from this, his government has adopted a long-term ‘Delta Plan-2100’, so that generation after generation can lead a prosperous and honorable life without depending on others. The Chief Minister said, ‘We are doing everything necessary to move forward in sports, culture, literature, economy, and every other field. Sheikh Hasina said that her government has done everything with a specific plan to build a country free from poverty and hunger, discrimination, and oppression with the aim of realizing the dream of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. To fulfill the dream of the father of the nation, the government is making all efforts to give a dignified and beautiful life to poor people.
