Blair’s Meeting with Sheikh Hasina: appreciation of Bangladesh’s economic progress

Former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Tony Blair has expressed his deep appreciation for the unprecedented economic progress of Bangladesh under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and expressed his desire to support the further development of Bangladesh. He made this comment during a courtesy meeting with the Prime Minister of Bangladesh at the bilateral meeting room of Claridge Hotel. After the meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs. AK Abdul Momen said in a press briefing, “The former Prime Minister of the UK praised the development of Bangladesh and wanted to help Bangladesh in its further development efforts. Momen said, quoting the statement of the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, “We need to create more jobs so that more foreign investment can be attracted to Bangladesh. He mentioned that Tony Blair said that he has good relations with Middle East countries especially GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) and he can help Bangladesh to increase business ties. Blair, head of the Tony Blair Institution for Global Change, also said, “The current economy of Bangladesh is very attractive and Bangladesh is doing very well in the economic field. The foreign minister said that the former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Santosh, openly said, “The relationship between the United Kingdom and Bangladesh is very good. He congratulated the Prime Minister of Bangladesh on his arrival to attend the coronation ceremony of King Charles III. The relevant authorities of the Tony Blair Institution for Global Change will visit Bangladesh and discuss with BIDA officials the sectors that need assistance in Bangladesh’s development efforts.
