Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina urged every citizen of the country to plant at least three trees. The Prime Minister planted saplings on Monday (June 5) to mark the inauguration of ‘World Environment Day and Environment Fair 2023’ and ‘National Tree Planting Campaign and Tree Fair 2023’ at Ganobhaban premises.
At this time, he urged the countrymen to plant trees.
Sheikh Hasina said, everyone planted trees extensively. Plant at least three trees wherever you can. Even if you can’t, plant at least one tree.
He said, I will tell the students that everyone can plant trees in their schools, colleges and universities.
The Prime Minister himself planted trees in the educational institution and said that all the students of the 65th batch went to Azimpur School and planted trees one day.
Sheikh Hasina said, when a tree planted by one’s own hands has flowers and fruits, it is good to see and eat. The mind also gets better.
He said, starting from roof gardens, bring every place under production. Produce whatever you can.
Highlighting the importance of increasing food production in the global situation, Sheikh Hasina said, today the price inflation in the whole world, the price of every thing has increased, the price of food has increased. Many developed countries are struggling. We are making efforts to save the people of our country from this.
The Prime Minister said that it is our duty to protect the environment of Bangladesh, to protect Bangladesh from the impact of climate.
Sheikh Hasina, giving instructions to Awami League leaders and activists to plant trees, said, “We did not decide in 1984 and in 1985, every leader and activist of Awami League was instructed to plant at least three trees each year – one fruit tree, one forest tree and one herb tree.”
