The non-stop train Suvarna Express on the Dhaka-Chittagong route has started its journey with new modern high-speed coaches imported from Korea.
On Tuesday (June 6) at 7 a.m. from Chittagong railway station, Suvarna Express departed for Dhaka with passengers in a new red-green coach.
It is known that the trial run of Suvarna Express with the new Korean coach started from Chittagong railway station on the morning of April 4 to Tongi in Dhaka. After the positive report of the trial run, 18 new modern clean and hygienic coaches from Chittagong to Dhaka ceremonially started this morning.
Suvarna Express train has 7 decorative chairs, 4 AC chairs (soft), one power car, two guard brakes, dining car. The total number of seats in this train is 890. There is no change in fares even though new coaches are added.
Chittagong Railway Station Master Zafar Alam told BanglaNews that the Suvarna Express train has been equipped with the addition of 18 high-speed modern coaches imported from Korea. Suvarna Express will depart for Dhaka in these new modern coaches as usual at 7 am today. The new coaches were installed at Suvarna on Monday night.
Among the 150 meter gauge coaches to be added to the fleet of Bangladesh Railway imported from Korea, many coaches have already moved. These coaches have some new technologies including comfortable seats, automatic slide doors, bio toilets, CC cameras.
