Sheikh Hasina will hold a meeting with the alliance leaders in the context of the fear of creating a crisis in the upcoming national parliament elections.
After one year and three months, Awami chief will meet with 14 party leaders. They last met on March 15 last year.
The top leaders of Awami League and alliance partners have confirmed the information of this meeting. According to them, the political context of the country has changed a lot. There is a fear of creating a major crisis in the upcoming election. The party has announced the resignation of the current government and not going to the polls without a caretaker government. They are determined not only to boycott elections, but also to vote or not.
Meanwhile, one of the partners of the former grand coalition led by Awami League and the government’s partner in the first and second terms of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s three-term government, the opposition party in Parliament is also in a row with the Jatiya Party. Due to various reasons, a distance has already been created between the two parties. It is difficult for Awami League to trust the Jatiya Party.In this situation, 14 parties have survived as a reliable alliance so far. However, Awami League disagrees with some of its partners at times. The top leaders of some parties also criticized the government.
In this situation, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will hold a meeting with 14 parties in view of the election. The meeting is also seen as quite important.
It should be noted that last Sunday (July 16) the president of the alliance partner Bangladesh Workers Party Rashed Khan Menon confirmed the meeting of the alliance leaders with the Prime Minister to the media.
