The country’s economy is dynamic: Prime Minister

Awami League President Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that despite the pressure due to the global recession, the country’s economy is dynamic.

He said this at the ruling Awami League-led alliance 14-party meeting at Ganobhaban on Wednesday (July 19).

Highlighting the current world situation, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, we are now roughly in such a place, there is economic pressure, the dollar crisis, it is global, it is also on us. Still I would say our economy is dynamic.

He said, we are moving the country forward by targeting all aspects of the society. Today’s Bangladesh is a role model of development to the whole world.

Reiterating the conviction of building a smart Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina said, we have set a goal. By 2041, Bangladesh will be a developed and prosperous Bangladesh. In 2008 we announced, Digital Bangladesh, now we announced Smart Bangladesh.

Stating that there is enough rice in the country, the head of government said, we have no shortage of rice. We have plenty of rice and other crops. Today the food minister told me that we have no place to store rice. How to free space now.

Talking about the government’s plan to free up space for new storage, Sheikh Hasina said, those to whom we give rations, such as our armed forces, police forces, and those who have arrangements to keep them, we will give them three months at a time.

He said, VGD, VGF are given month by month, it is also necessary that we will make a place there after three months and stock food there again, so that there is no problem in future disasters.

Stating that the price inflation is under control in the villages, the head of government said, maybe everyone sees the city of Dhaka, but did not go to the villages. Village people, but there is no increase in the price of goods in the village. Even today I got news, our leaders and activists came from different areas, asked what is the situation, they said that the price is high here, everything is fine with us there.

Sheikh Hasina said, people’s lives have changed. We have now got the status of a developing country to be implemented. There will be some challenges for us. We are preparing for that.

The Prime Minister said, today people feel better after eating at least. Now you see winter vegetables even during monsoons. All available. And if the price is high, everyone screams. But earlier they were not available. Everything is available now.

Highlighting the construction of Padma Bridge with own funding, Sheikh Hasina said that a challenge had to be faced with Padma Bridge. Padma Bridge, this is a decision, now everyone agrees with Bangladesh. The destiny of the people of the south has been opened at the Padma Bridge.

Highlighting the various measures taken by the government for the welfare of the people of the country, Sheikh Hasina said that apart from giving a better life to the people, providing free houses to the landless homeless, inaugurating hundreds of bridges and hundreds of roads across the country on the same day, and providing 100% electricity connections have been implemented across the country.

He said, more than 25 thousand megawatt power generation capacity has been achieved in the country. It has been possible to produce a maximum of 18 thousand megawatts of electricity in the country so far.

Top leaders of 14 parties were present in the meeting. After the opening speech, Awami League President Sheikh Hasina listened to the speeches of the leaders of 14 parties.
