HSC examination has started under eight boards of the country. The exam started on Thursday (August 17) at 10 am.
Bengali (compulsory) first paper exam will be held on the first day from 10 am to 1 pm.
Although the HSC and equivalent examinations of 2023 under 11 boards were scheduled to start from Thursday, due to flood, the start date of Chittagong, technical and madrasa education boards was postponed. The examination in those three boards will begin on August 27.
According to the Ministry of Education, 13 lakh 59 thousand 342 examinees will participate in the examination this time, which is 1 lakh 55 thousand 935 more than last year. Among them, 6 lakh 88 thousand 887 students and 6 lakh 70 thousand 455 female students. Various initiatives have been taken to conduct this examination in a fair environment in 2 thousand 658 centers across the country.
This year candidates will participate in all subjects with full marks and full time. But in ICT, instead of 100 marks, there will be an exam of 75 marks.
This year 13 lakh 59 thousand 342 students will participate in HSC and equivalent examination under 11 education boards of the country. Among them, 6 lakh 88 thousand 887 students and 6 lakh 70 thousand 455 female students. There are 9 thousand 169 educational institutions in the whole country. In 2022, there were 12 lakh 3 thousand 407 candidates in all the boards.As such, the number of candidates increased by 1 lakh 55 thousand 935.
11 lakh 8 thousand 594 students will participate in the examination under 9 general education boards of the country. Among them 5 lakh 26 thousand 251 students and 5 lakh 82 thousand 343 female students. Total centers are 1 thousand 535 and total institutions are 4 thousand 647.98 thousand 31 students will participate in the Alim exam under Madrasa Education Board. Among them, 53 thousand 63 students and 44 thousand 968 female students. Total centers are 449 and educational institutions are 2 thousand 688.
One lakh 52 thousand 717 students will participate in the HSC (BM/BMT), HSC (Vocational) and Diploma-in-Commerce examinations under the Board of Technical Education. Among them, 1 lakh 9 thousand 573 students and 43 thousand 144 female students. Total centers are 674 and total educational institutions are 1 thousand 834.
Abroad Jeddah, Riyadh, Tripoli, Doha, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Bahrain, Saham, Oman, a total of 327 students will participate in the examination.
All coaching centers will be closed for 43 days across the country from August 14 to September 25, focusing on HSC and equivalent exams. It has been decided to close all the coaching centers in order to conduct the examination in an environment free from rumors of question paper leaks and cheating.
Candidates must enter the examination hall at least 30 minutes before the commencement of the examination. If a candidate is admitted later due to unavoidable reasons, his name, roll number, time of entry, reason for delay etc. will be entered in a register. The reason for his late entry on this day should be reported to the concerned Board of Education. But it will not be more than 10:30.
To prevent leakage of questions, like last few years, the set code of the question paper will be communicated to the concerned through SAS 25 minutes before the start of the examination.
To prevent the leakage of questions from the examination hall, the education board has maintained the ban on entering the center with smart phones. No one can enter the center with mobile phones/electronic devices except the officer-in-charge.
No one other than the person concerned with the examination (such as examinees, room invigilators, center inspection team of the Ministry, center inspection team of the Board, district administration and upazila administration inspection team, except members of the law enforcement agencies responsible for security) will be allowed to enter the center. Special instructions have been given to the officials in charge of the center to deal with the dengue outbreak.
