In the last Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), Mushfiqur Rahim also played in the final. He won the title for the Fifteen. However, he has never tasted the sweetness of the championship in the BPL, not just in the last BPL. Mushfiqur Rahim is now with the Fortune Barisal franchise.

This is Mushfiqur’s ninth franchise in the BPL. Tamim Iqbal has brought him into the team. He was categorized and his salary was set at 80 lakh Bangladeshi Taka, which placed him in the ‘A’ category.

In Fortune Barisal, Mushfiqur will join Tamim Iqbal, Mahmudullah, Mehedi Hasan Miraz, and Khaled Ahmed. They have also confirmed Ibrahim Jadran, Shoaib Malik, Paul Stirling, Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Amir, Abbas Afridi, and Duniya Bhellalage as foreign players. Mushfiqur has played 111 matches in the BPL so far. In 105 innings, Mushfiqur Rahim scored 2882 runs, which is the second-highest in the tournament. Among Bangladeshi cricketers, he holds the record for playing the most matches in the BPL as a wicket-keeper batsman. Before joining Fortune Barisal, he played for eight different franchises, including Royals, Superstars, and Strikers in Sylhet.

Mushfiqur has played for Barisal once before, in 2016, when he played for Barisal Bulls. Now, he is playing for Fortune Barisal. Apart from that, he has played for Chittagong Vikings, Duronto Rajshahi, Rajshahi Kings, and Khulna Tigers. He has played the most matches, 25, for Khulna Tigers.

In the last season, playing for Sylhet Strikers, Mushfiqur scored 357 runs in 15 matches. They reached the final but couldn’t win the championship. Even then, Sylhet Strikers did not retain him, and now he has joined Fortune Barisal. Sylhet has retained Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, Zakir Hasan, and Tanjim Hasan Sakib.
