Interim government’s Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus is set to travel to Azerbaijan to attend the World Climate Summit (COP-29) in Baku.
According to sources in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Chief Adviser will depart for Baku on Saturday, November 10, and is expected to return to Bangladesh on November 14.
There is a possibility of a bilateral meeting between Dr. Yunus and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Baku, with preparations underway; however, the timing of the meeting has not been finalized.
The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP-29), known globally as the World Climate Summit, will take place in Baku from November 11 to 22. World leaders will gather to discuss solutions for tackling the global climate crisis.
The Azerbaijani Ambassador to Bangladesh, Elchin Huseynli, has already met with Chief Adviser Professor Yunus, extending an invitation on behalf of his country for this summit.
