The number of patients with corona virus in various border districts in the north and south-west of Bangladesh is still above 40 percent. The death toll is also rising in those districts.
The rate of infection has increased in the border districts of the country as well as in other districts. Now the infection has increased in some districts of Dhaka division. Therefore, to keep Dhaka safe, the cabinet division has announced lockdown in seven districts of this division. The lockdown will be effective till June 30 in Narayanganj, Gazipur, Munshiganj, Manikganj, Rajbari, Madaripur and Gopalganj.
There are 30 districts bordering India with the country. In May, the trend of infection has been seen in 6 districts. Among them Chapainawabganj, Rajshahi, Khulna and Rangpur were high risk area.
Analyzing the corona test data in the last one week, it is known that in almost every district of the country, if the corona test increases slightly, the number of patients identified increases. Again, in some districts, more patients are being found as opposed to less sample tests.
After Eid, the number of new patients in the country started increasing from the 63rd week of infection (May 16 to 22). And death began to rise from the 65th week (May 30-June 5). For so many days, the rate of new detections and deaths each week has been below 30 percent. But over the past week the situation has been deteriorating rapidly.
Although the corona detection rate in the capital Dhaka has been declining, it has increased since Saturday (June 19). The day before, 473 people were identified as Corona. 1,114 people were identified on Saturday, 822 on Sunday and 1,294 on Monday. In the last 24 hours, more than four and a half thousand people have been identified as Corona. And 78 people have died.
The Department of Health says, ‘If we consider the large number of patients, the infection rate is higher in Chittagong district. In addition, the collection of samples in Comilla district has been low, but as a percentage, the detection rate there is higher than any other time. Rajshahi and Khulna are our concern at the moment. We don’t see any immediate improvement in this situation if we don’t follow the hygiene rules. ‘
A week ago, the detection rate in Dhaka district was four percent, but now it is about six percent.
