US-Israel meeting: Biden threatens Iran

Joe Biden met with Israeli President Reuven Rivlin at the White House on Monday evening. At the meeting, Biden threatened Iran with nuclear weapons. He said, as long as he remains president of the United States, Iran will not be able to build nuclear weapons.

The two leaders had long discussions on Iran. Israel has always had a strong attitude towards the Middle East country. They have carried out multiple attacks there. Israel has attacked several Iranian-backed militant groups. The issue of nuclear deal with the United States came up in the talks between the two heads of state. The Trump administration came out of the agreement in 2018. Since then, Iran has started making one threat after another.

At the meeting, Biden said, the United States wants to return to the 2015 nuclear deal. Negotiations are also going on. But the United States will not accept what Iran is doing. Iran is being closely monitored. The United States will take the toughest steps if necessary.

Biden also argued in support of airstrikes in Syria on Monday. He said, the airstrike was carried out on his instructions. Five people were killed in a US airstrike on the Syrian-Iraqi border on Monday.

After such a belligerent look at the US president, diplomats feel that the rift in US relations with Iran is unlikely to be bridged. On the contrary, tensions between the two countries will increase.

At the end of the meeting, the Israeli president said that fruitful talks had taken place. He supports Biden’s stance on Iran.

This is Rivlin’s last visit to America as president. A new president is set to arrive in Israel next month. Biden also expressed interest in meeting with Israel’s new prime minister.
