The British military says, seven people have been killed near Kabul International Airport in the Afghan capital. The casualties came as thousands of people flocked to the airport to flee Afghanistan since the Taliban seized power. News from Al Jazeera.
But the UK Ministry of Defense did not say when or how they were killed. However, until Saturday (August 21), four deaths were reported at the airport due to human pressure.
One week ago, after Taliban fighters took control of Kabul, thousands of Afghans flocked to the airport to flee the country. The process of evacuating people from various countries, including the United States and the United Kingdom, has slowed down after images of people desperate to flee the country spread on jets.
In the last few days, there have been incidents of people trying to leave Afghanistan being run over and trampled to death.
Earlier on Sunday (August 15th), Taliban fighters seized power peacefully through talks with the Afghan administration. The next day, Monday (August 16), the Taliban announced the end of the war. Meanwhile, President Ashraf Ghani secretly left the country.
