Russian troops have entered Ukraine’s second city Kharkiv and fighting was under way on Sunday, the head of the regional administration said on the fourth day of Moscow’s invasion of the pro-Western country.
“The Russian enemy’s light vehicles broke into the city of Kharkiv,” Oleg Sinegubov said in a Facebook post. “The Ukrainian armed forces are eliminating the enemy.”

Russia’s Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said in a statement that “for the past 24 hours, the Russian military has laid siege to the Ukrainian cities of Kherson and Bardiansk.”
Russia’s military has seized a town called Nova Kakhovka on the fourth day of its offensive in Ukraine. The town, also known as New Kakhovka, is small but strategically important. The town of Kakhovka is located on the banks of the Dinipar River, which is directly connected to the Crimean Peninsula by water.
