General Secretary of the party and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader addressed the protest meeting organized by Dhaka Metropolitan North Awami League. Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader called on BNP to participate in the upcoming national elections. He said to the BNP, “If you want a safe exit, come to the polls.” The people will decide who will take the safe exit through the election. Obaidul Quader said this at a rally organized by the Dhaka Metropolitan North Awami League at the Martyr Intellectuals Memorial in Mirpur of the capital on Saturday afternoon. The rally was organized to protest against the ‘anti-national conspiracy, lies and propaganda of BNP’. Before this, the BNP leaders had been talking about giving free and fair elections to the ruling Awami League to get a ‘safe exit’. This time Obaidul Quader spoke for BNP. He said, ‘Your (BNP’s) pin-pin movement, the movement to which the public does not respond, there is no safe exit in that movement. Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has commented that BNP has been talking about ousting the government through agitation as a ‘nightmare’.
