Another 6 million Pfizer vaccines coming in August: Health Minister

In the first week of August, Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Malek said that 6 million doses of Pfizer vaccine were coming from the Covax facility. He gave this information at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University on Saturday (July 10).

He said, “We are overcoming the vaccine crisis,”. We have already received 45 lakh vaccines. Glad to hear that yesterday we received a letter from the World Health Organization (WHO) that we will receive another 6 million Pfizer vaccines in the first week of August.

At the same time, more vaccines will come from China, he said, adding that large consignments of vaccines are also coming from China, we will get more vaccines from them. In all, in the next one to one and a half months, one and a half to two and a half crore doses of vaccine will come in the hands of Bangladesh.

Regarding increasing the number of beds in the hospital, Zahid Malek said, ‘It is not enough to just increase the number of beds; Manpower also needs to be increased. There is also a limitation to increasing the bed. We cannot make the whole country a hospital. You have to understand that. ‘

The health minister said, arrangements have been made to recruit 4,000 new doctors and 4,000 nurses in the last few days. In all, about 50,000 new people are working in Corona.
