The United States has said it will convene an open meeting of the UN Security Council following Monday to discuss the crisis in Ukraine over Russia’s “threatening behavior.”
“More than 100,000 Russian troops have been deployed along the Ukrainian border,” Linda Thomasgreenfield, Washington’s ambassador to the United Nations, said in a statement on Thursday. Russia is threatening Ukraine by engaging in other destabilizing activities, which is a clear violation of international peace and security and the UN Charter.
