Momen urges expats to check anti-Bangladesh propaganda

Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen has urged the expatriate Bangladeshis to be vigilant against the elements those have been engaged in conducting anti-Bangladesh campaign with disinformation on the foreign soils.

He made the call when speaking at a reception hosted by Sweden Awami League on his honour in Stockholm on Saturday, a foreign ministry press release said today.

The foreign minister said his ministry has already enriched all Bangladesh missions abroad with adequate information and true facts and figures regarding tremendous socio-economic success of the country.

The missions have been disseminating that information through public diplomacy, he said.

The foreign minister urged Bangladeshi expatriates to step forward along with the missions in this regard in their respective host countries.

Dr Momen expressed his gratitude to the expatiate Bangladeshis for their hard work and immense contribution in building a strong foreign currency reserve of the country.

Sweden Awami League president Jahangir Kabir, general secretary Dr Farhad Ali Khan and Bangladesh Ambassador to Sweden Md Nazmul Islam were present, among others.
