Sheikh Hasina joining BRICS : Quader

Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said that India and Africa are one of the founders of BRICS while maintaining close relations with the West. He also said that Sheikh Hasina is joining BRICS for the welfare of the people of Bangladesh.

On Saturday (July 1), Obaidul Quader condemned and protested the statements of BNP leaders and said these things.

Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said that BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam’s speech on joining BRICS is nothing but ignorance. India and Africa are among the founders of the BRICS Bank, despite maintaining close ties with the West. Bangladesh has recently received financial support for the country from the World Bank and ADB.Similarly, Sheikh Hasina government is joining BRICS for the welfare of the people of Bangladesh. Neither Awami League nor Sheikh Hasina do politics to appease foreign masters like BNP. Awami League does politics for the betterment of the people of the country.

Obaidul Quader also said in the statement that BNP has maintained close relations with Jamaat-e-Islami since birth. Traditionally, Ghulam Azam’s party Jamaat-e-Islami is a close ally of BNP. BNP founder Ziaur Rahman brought Pakistani citizen Ghulam Azam from Pakistan to Bangladesh and his wife Khaleda Zia granted Bangladeshi citizenship to Ghulam Azam. After the 2001 elections, BNP united with Jamaat to form the government and destroyed the spirit of Bangladesh’s liberation war. Khaleda Zia, the top leader of Jamaat-e-Islami during the war crimes trial, campaigned to stop the trial of war criminals. During the rule of BNP, the politics of Pakistani philosophy gained strength in Bangladesh and the process of empowerment of Jamaat-e-Islam started.
