The National Technical Advisory Committee on Covid-19 has recommended a seven-day extension of ongoing restrictions or strict lockdown to control corona infections.
The number of corona infections and deaths is increasing day by day in the country. A record 153 people died in the country on Sunday (July 4th). In such a situation, the National Advisory Committee has recommended extending the ongoing strict restrictions by one more week.
One-week strict lockdown was given across the country from July 1. Under this, all government and non-government offices and institutions are closed except emergency services. Restrictions are also in place on all types of vehicles, including public transport.
The chairman of the technical advisory committee on corona said, “We initially suggested two weeks of strict restrictions. That was given scientifically. The advisory committee still thinks the current restrictions should be scientifically extended for another week.
Government sources says it has not yet been decided to extend the strict lockdown for another week. However, there are plans to extend the current restrictions, taking into account the current situation, including the current infection and mortality rate.
On June 24, the National Technical Committee on Covid-19 said in a press release, “The country has seen an increase in corona infections and social infections of the delta variant.” In this situation, the National Technical Advisory Committee on Covid-19 has recommended a 14-day shutdown across the country.
