Bangladesh is interested in becoming a partner in the Tista multipurpose project.

At the end of a meeting with Indian Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra on Thursday, Foreign Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud stated that Bangladesh is interested in participating in the Tista multipurpose project. He also mentioned that discussions have taken place on making the visa process easier for Bangladeshis.

On Thursday, May 9, Indian Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra met with the Foreign Minister at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Dhaka. The discussion also touched upon how to simplify the visa process for Bangladeshis in India. Additionally, the importance of communication between the two countries was emphasized. The Minister also mentioned the possibility of importing electricity from Nepal using Indian transit facilities.

Prior to this, Indian Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra arrived in Dhaka for a two-day visit on Wednesday night. Initially, it was planned for Indian Foreign Secretary Binoy Mohan Kwatra to visit Dhaka on April 20. However, due to unavoidable circumstances, the scheduled visit was postponed.
