Chittagong-10: EC is monitoring the polls on CC cameras

The election commissioners are monitoring the by-elections of Chittagong-10 constituencies (Doublemooring, Pahartali and Halishahar) on CC cameras. Polling started at 8 am on Sunday (July 30) and will continue till 4 pm.

The commissioners are monitoring the polls sitting in the CC camera monitoring cell of the election building. Election Commissioner said. Ahsan Habib Khan, Begum Rasheda Sultana came first, followed by others.

EC Election Management Branch Joint Secretary Farhad Ahmed Khan said that 1563 CC cameras have been installed in 156 centers. Voting is done in Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs).

Bangladesh Awami League. Mohiuddin Bachchu (Boat), Jatiya Party candidate. Samsul Alam (Plough), Deepak Kumar Palit of Trinamool BNP (Golden Scale), Rashid Mia of Bangladesh Cultural Liberation Jot (Stick), independent candidate Md. Arman Ali (Balloon) and Manjurul Islam Bhuiyan (Rocket) are contesting the election. A total of four lakh 88 thousand 633 voters are getting the opportunity to exercise their right to vote.

In order to keep the election environment peaceful, the EC has already banned the movement of bikes and other motorized vehicles.

Three policemen with weapons and two members of Ansar will be present at the general center to keep the situation under control. Apart from this, 10 unarmed Ansars with sticks and one village policeman have been deployed. On the other hand, one policeman and two additional members of the village police have been kept in the vulnerable center.

Eight mobile teams of police and four mobile striking teams, four teams of RAB and four platoons of BGB are deployed in the polling area.

12 Executive Magistrates and two Judicial Magistrates are performing the duties of mobile courts and summary trials on electoral offences.
