When will Neymar return to the field?

The ownership of Neymar’s image and likeness is held by his family foundation, NR Sports. Neymar, recovering from an ankle injury, has been undergoing a treatment process, which has been depicted in images released by his foundation.

A video released by NR Sports on YouTube shows Neymar’s current condition and the process of his recovery, giving an idea of the extent of pain he is experiencing. Brazilian news outlet ‘Globo’ reported that Neymar is undergoing treatment in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, for the ankle ligament injury sustained during a match against Uruguay on October 17, 2026.

Following the injury, he underwent surgery in Brazil to repair the anterior cruciate ligament on November 2. Neymar has been engaged in the rehabilitation process since then.

NR Sports, through a social media post, shared updates on Neymar’s return journey, expressing uncertainty about the extent of his pain. However, the most significant pain is possibly being away from the field. They expressed hope and trust in the creator, along with positive messages, stating that he is slowly making progress.

There have been reports in Brazilian media that Neymar might not return to the field for the rest of the ongoing season. Neymar’s move to Saudi Pro League club Al Hilal for approximately 90 million euros in August seems uncertain if his recovery extends beyond the expected timeline.

There’s hope that Neymar will recover in time for the Copa America scheduled in June next year in the United States. However, the time frame might not favor Brazil for the upcoming matches against Colombia and Argentina, both of which they lost following Neymar’s injury against Uruguay.

NR Sports released a video showing Neymar’s treatment process, revealing glimpses of the discomfort he’s facing. Neymar is seen lying on a stretcher wearing a white T-shirt. Various devices are attached to his injured foot to aid in treatment. At one point, he was cradling a sleeping girl in his arms and saying, “She’s just sleeping.”

In another segment of the video, Neymar is seen sitting in a PSG T-shirt while trying to flex his injured foot. Medical professionals repeatedly encourage him to try to move his foot firmly and hold it. Neymar grimaces in pain as he tries to move it, expressing concern that it might break.
