“The Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the District Administrators’ Conference. According to tradition, today, Sunday, March 3, at the Prime Minister’s Office, the inauguration of the DC Conference-2024 was held. It is hoped that discussions will be held on 356 proposals from various ministries and departments during this four-day conference. This is the first District Administrators’ Conference under the current government.
In her inaugural speech, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, ‘Efforts should be made to increase vigilance by district administrators so that no one can hoard goods ahead of Ramadan.’
The current DC Conference will conclude on March 6. All sessions will be held at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital. District administrators will have the opportunity to exchange views, receive sincere guidance, and engage in discussions with the Speaker and the Chief Justice of Bangladesh. This time, the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Armed Forces Division have been included in the agenda.
Among the proposals for this conference are increasing public service, reducing public suffering, construction of roads and bridges, development of tourism, amendment of laws or regulations, protection of public interests, and more proposals from the Roads and Highways Department. In addition, discussions will be held on land management, improvement of law and order situation, strengthening of local government institutions, disaster management, relief and rehabilitation programs, implementation of poverty alleviation programs at the local level, implementation of social security enhancement programs, use of information and communication technology and e-governance, improvement and expansion of educational quality, healthcare and family welfare, environmental conservation and pollution control, development of physical infrastructure, and monitoring and coordination of development programs.”
