There is no traffic jam on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway

When Eid came, people living in different parts of the country were afraid of traffic jams on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway, which is known as the ‘lifeline’ of the country. But there was no report of traffic jam anywhere on the Comilla section of the highway during this Eid trip.

Last Eid-ul-Fitr and last year’s two Eids, there was not much traffic.

On Monday (June 26), it was seen that the pressure of vehicles on the highway has slightly increased by going to different parts of Comilla on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway. But the car is running smoothly. There is no traffic jam anywhere. Comilla commuters are happy to have a traffic-free highway.

Omar Farooq, a passenger who came from Dhaka to Comilla’s Padua Bazar Bishwar Road, said that he reached Comilla in just one and a half hours by taking the bus from Tikatuli Junction in the capital. I could not reach Comilla so early on any Eid before this.

Sheikh Farid, a passenger coming from Chittagong to Comilla, said that he boarded the bus from Chittagong’s Alankar. In the beginning, the pressure of cars on the road seemed more. After a while the road seems a bit empty. It took two and a half hours to reach Comilla from Chittagong.

Superintendent of Police of Comilla Region of Highway Police Muhammad Rahmat Ullah said that in a meeting on June 18, we gave instructions not to stop any vehicle on the highway without a specific complaint. Along with 66 patrol teams of 22 police stations and outposts of Comilla region, 30 quick response teams are working to deal with emergencies. 5 government and 12 private wreckers have been kept ready to remove any kind of obstruction.
