The 74th founding anniversary of the People’s Republic of China has been celebrated in Dhaka. On Monday (September 25), the Chinese Embassy in Dhaka organized a program on this occasion at Hotel Le Meridien in the capital.
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal was the chief guest on the occasion.
He said that China is Bangladesh’s friend, prototypical country and a major development partner. That is why we believe in the One China policy.
He said that the top leaders of the two countries have exchanged visits to promote friendship and good relations between Bangladesh and China. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina visited China in 2010, 2014 and 2019. And Chinese President Xi Jinping visited Dhaka in 2016. Besides, the top leaders of the two countries met in South Africa last month and gave a message of deepening bilateral relations.
Chinese Ambassador to Dhaka Yao Wen said that China is a tested friend of Bangladesh. Deep ties exist between the two countries.
He said, with joint efforts, we will certainly be able to realize the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and Bangladesh’s Vision 2041. China and Bangladesh are good brothers who support each other.
The Chinese ambassador said that on the occasion of International Children’s Day this year, Chinese President Xi Jinping replied to the letter of Alifa Chin, a Bangladeshi child. Encouraged him to study hard, fulfill his dreams and maintain the traditional friendship between Bangladesh and China. President Xi Jinping’s letter has been warmly welcomed in both countries, giving it new historical significance. He hopes to further advance the relations between the two countries in the coming days.
Politicians, diplomats, military officers, journalists, businessmen, researchers, teachers and representatives of various public and private institutions were present in the event.
