President laid foundation stone of Pabna Medical College Hospital

President laid the foundation stone of Pabna Medical College’s 500-bed hospital. Sahabuddin.

The President formally laid the foundation stone of the hospital at the Pabna Medical College campus in Hemayetpur, Pabna at around 11 am on Thursday (September 28).

At that time, he said, instead of the hospital, there was a proposal to modernize Pabna Sadar Hospital. But I thought that the foundation of a medical college is a hospital, so I said that it should not be combined with it. After that I called the health minister, secretary, DG and other concerned people to my Bangabhaban. They are surprised, then, that it has not been presented at the policy-making level in the last 15 years.

He said, after hearing it, the minister accepted it with interest and instructed everyone. Later, the Minister of State for Planning said that it should be proposed anew. After receiving this news, I called the Planning Minister. Then he said, OK, it was given to Ekne in the previous plan. Then passed.

The people of Pabna have long demanded that the 500-bed hospital of Pabna Medical College be completed quickly.

Earlier on Wednesday (September 27) at 4:25 PM, the President arrived at Shaheed Advocate Amin Uddin Stadium in his district Pabna by helicopter from Dhaka. Then at 4:30 PM the President arrived at Pabna Circuit House and received the Guard of Honour. He interacted with the journalists of Pabna Press Club around 9 pm and spent the night at Circuit House.

He laid the foundation stone of the hospital at 11 am on Thursday (September 28), the second day of the visit. After that, the President will leave for Santhia at 3:30 pm. He will participate in the final ceremony of the boat race organized on the occasion of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s birthday there.

After the event, return to Pabna city and spend the night at Circuit House. After receiving the guard of honor at Pabna Circuit House at around 11 am on September 29, the President will return to Bangabhaban by helicopter.
