US visa restrictions on 30 people from various countries for corruption

On the occasion of International Anti-Corruption Day, the United States has imposed visa restrictions on 30 individuals from various countries. This information was disclosed in a statement from the U.S. Department of State on Monday.

In line with this, President Joe Biden signed a presidential proclamation on Monday, expanding the authority of the U.S. Department of State to impose visa restrictions on individuals globally involved in corruption. The proclamation aims to hold accountable those implicated in corruption worldwide.

Among the individuals subjected to visa restrictions on Monday are two former Afghan government officials, including a former speaker, and their family members, along with officials from 44 entities in Afghanistan. Additionally, former government officials from Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as a former director of intelligence and a former attorney general from the Dominican Republic, a former prime minister and two former senators from Haiti, a former finance minister from Liberia, and a former president of the Marshall Islands, are also among those affected by the visa restrictions imposed by the State Department.
