Tourist ships on the St. Martin route started on Wednesday

After a long 6 months, next Wednesday (September 27) on the World Tourism Day, Cox’s Bazar’s Teknaf-Saint Martin route is starting. On this occasion, on Tuesday (September 26) around 10 am, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Cox’s Bazar. An observation team headed by Naseem Ahmad left for Saint Martin from Damdamiya jetty in Teknaf in a ship named Bar Aulia.

Additional Deputy Commissioner led by the observation team. Nasim Ahmed said, on the occasion of World Tourism Day, Cox’s Bazar has a seven-day colorful event. As part of this, tourist vessels have been allowed to ply the St Martin waterway from Wednesday. For this reason, on Tuesday, a team from the district administration traveled to St. Martin to observe. The observation team has examined whether the jetties on both sides are useful or not, including the navigability of Nafnadi.

Earlier, the shipping was stopped after March 20 of this year. Later on September 27 of this month, the district administration allowed the ship to sail.

Hossainul Islam Bahadur, senior vice president of Cox’s Bazar Tour Operators Association (TUAC), who is in the monitoring group, said that due to the navigability crisis of the Naf river and the rise of several shoals in the river, the movement of ships was stopped from the beginning of the tourist season last year on Teknaf-Saint Martin waterway. But this year, thanks to Almighty God for getting permission to sail on time. I also thank the district administration of Cox’s Bazar.

Teknaf Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mohammad Adnan Chowdhury, Beach Management Committee Member Secretary Raihan Uddin Ahmed, Tourism Entrepreneur Touhidul Islam Toha, Tour Operator Owners Association President Rezaul Karim Reza, Vice President Milki, Tourist Police and other administration officials are in the monitoring team.
